Is Cristano Ronaldo Leaving For Manchester?
Months ago, there were rumors that Juventus and Manchester United were taking a stab at exchanging Paul Pogba for Christiano Ronaldo. With the transfer window now open, the moment of truth has finally arrived and the question is, will the deal pull through?
Chevrolet, the sponsor of the Red Devils is no doubt keen on having the Portuguese footballer back at Old Trafford, but with the look of things, CR7 will be extending his contract with the Turin based football club.
The 35-year old will be offered a new contract by Juventus, one that will span on till 2023.
It seems that Manchester United would have to wait till 2023 before trying to sign up the winger again, but by then, he will be 38 years old and the chances of him delivering the exact results are unlikely.
Juventus FC is excited to have been able to offer the player a new deal, a fit that was made possible after sealing a long-term renewal deal of their Adidas and Jeep sponsorships.
Bruno Fernandes addressing the issue last year August explained that Cristiano still held the red devils in esteem and often asked about the wellbeing of the club.
“Of course, I spoke with Cristiano after [joining] and he spoke very well about the club," Bruno had said to the Club Website. "I spoke with him some days ago, again.
“Every time I speak with him, he asks me how Manchester is and if everything is okay. Everyone knows he spent a lot of time in Manchester and he has consideration for the club.
"He likes the club, I think he won his first Ballon d’Or here, so it’s a club who’ve marked him, for sure.
Since his debut at the series A club, Cristiano has gone on to score 62 goals and give 16 assists. Little wonder the club is not letting him go just yet.
