AND ITSSSSS TIMMMMEEEEEEE! Conor McGregor is BACK. The last time he stepped in the octagon he showed out just like we all wanted and expected him to. But let's talk about what's at stake then just a win or lose for both of these fighters. What's at stake for the UFC?
My insider source told me, "I would say there's more on the line for the UFC then Conor or Dustin. A win by Conor sets up quite possibly the largest fight in combat sports history. A win by Porier has no big effect for the UFC." Yes, he will fight for the title but a Porier vs Khabib title fight won't sell as much and it's not a promoters dream for that fight to happen because it doesn't really grab the audience's attention. The first fight between Porier and Khabib was an okay fight but it wasn't good enough to bring in tons of money for the UFC. If there happens to be a second fight between the two, it would most likely be the same. My source also said that there is 100's of millions of dollars in play for the UFC based on the winner of tonight's fight. If Conor wins and gets Khabib to come out of retirement, everyone, not just fight fans, will go crazy to see that rematch. When I went back and watched the latest episode of Dana White show, he tells Khabib that UFC 257 is trending for more buys than him. He then goes on to say, "could you imagine what you vs Conor 2 would do now?" It's as simple as reading that quote to know that is what the UFC needs and most likely wants to happen. The UFC, like everyone else in the country, dealt with severe loss in money when the pandemic hit. The potential fight of Khabib vs Conor will certainly claw them out of that hole quickly. Now let's say that Khabib, for some reason, does not come out of retirement if Conor wins. It sets up a lot of very good and interesting fights for Conor. The first fight that comes to mind is a rematch with Max Holloway. Max looked all world last fight against Katar. Another one would be Nate vs Conor 3. I mean who wouldn't want to watch those two go head to head in another crazy brawl. There is a lot on the line for the UFC tonight. There is a lot more intrigue and interest in a Conor win tonight for future fight fans and promoters then there is for a Porier win tonight. But either way this fight should be a fantastic coming from two all world fighters going head to head again! Let me know, who do you have winning tonight's fight? Why? And what fights do you want to see in the future based on the winner tonight?! The Recommended Content Widget will appear here on the published site.
