Athletes And Cannabis Use
There is nothing new about athletes using cannabis products during or after their careers, but it is however becoming more common for them to speak out publicly about their marijuana use. Especially with more and more states legalizing different forms of cannabis for both medical and recreational use.
Whether it be CBD or THC based, a good number of pro athletes swear by cannabis for the success of their careers and games. This is reasonable if you consider the vast benefits of medical marijuana, especially when it comes to pain management. It is clearly the better option for treating pain than opioids for a number of reasons. As the years go by and marijuana laws are constantly changing, smoking is not condemned as much as it once was. Who are some of these athletes that have gone public with their marijuana use, you ask? Matt Barnes, now retired from the NBA, was quoted in an interview about it saying, “All my best games I was medicated.” Retired NFL player Shaun Smith was reportedly saying that marijuana use was widespread across the entire NFL. Not to mention Tiki Barber, the former running back of the New York Giants, is now investing in cannabis. Barber co-founded Grove Group Management, which was founded to focus on cannabis start-up businesses. Some people prefer to smoke for the THC because they like the high that comes with the psychoactive compound. It is known to ease MS pain, Parkinson’s, glaucoma, etc. Others may want to avoid the high and go for CBD products. CBD is more widely legal and accessible across the country and recognized for reducing chronic pain by smoking or using CBD oils, creams, and other products. However you prefer to ease the pain, you aren’t alone. Here is to looking forward to the future where stoners can exist in all sports, all positions, and all places of the country without reprimand or judgement. Jay-Z Launches Monogram Cannabis Brand![]() American rapper and businessman, Jay-Z (born Shawn Corey Carter) has launched his cannabis company by the name Monogram. The 51-year old’s victory in the war on drugs has been painted as poetic justice. From transporting kilos to contributing to popular culture, this celebrity has obviously beaten all odds that predicted him dead or in prison by the age of 25. Monogram is a contour of strains and pre-rolls and this projects the beginning of many business activities to come from the parent company, Ganjapreneur whose objectives are to incorporate a variety of cannabis verticals for a long period of time. In the rapper’s words, “Cannabis has been around for thousands of years, yet it is still an industry whose legacy of skilled craftsmanship is often overlooked. I created Monogram to give cannabis the respect it deserves by showcasing the tremendous hard work, time, and care that goes into crafting a superior smoke.” Michael Auerbach, the Founder of Subversive Capital along with support from Left Coast Ventures who are partners with Marley estate and Mexican guitarist, Carlos Santana put in the effort to make it a reality. This support was worth $575 million in the estimate. Some Monogram strains include; The 2G Flower This was first cultivated in small batches to enable an excellent quality, according to the description from the shop, “each nug is then hand-picked by MONOGRAM experts to ensure a premium experience from growing to smoke. Not too heavy. Not too light. Hits just right. Our 2g jar offers cannabis perfection.” This cerebral strain helps with relaxation and promotes focus. This strain is complex with a sweet and herby aroma that transitions to a skunky smell. There is also the 4G Flower which is a medium 34% and goes for $70.00. Jay-Z’s involvement in the cannabis industry is now pronounced even though it can’t be compared to that of Wiz or Snoop. The rapper has taken to heading Caliva’s social justice initiatives. Mike Tyson Smokes A Ton Of Weed1/16/2021 Mike Tyson Smokes A Ton Of Weed![]() Michael Gerard Tyson, popularly known as Mike Tyson, is a one-time professional boxer of the United States of America. He competed between 1985-2005. At the early age of his career, he was nicknamed "Kid Dynamite" and "Iron Man" while later considered as The Baddest Man on the Planet." He's aged 54 years but remains one of the top heavyweight boxers. Tyson holds the record as the youngest boxer to win a heavyweight title. Mike Tyson is considered an "Advocate of Marijuana" because of his love and high consumption of weed. He has a ranch of 40 acres of marijuana farm and a resort named "Tyson Ranch." As far back 2019, the former professional boxer revealed through a podcast that he has been smoking weed worth $40,000 every month. This is a massive amount of money, and he consumes this much weed continuously. This made him launch his marijuana farm of 40 acres and named it "Tyson Ranch." Eben Britton, who is also a Marijuana advocate, was a former player of the professional American football league known as the National Football League. Britton is the co-owner of a cannabis business with Tyson. Tyson speaking on Hotboxin with Mike Tyson featuring celebrities, athletes, and other essential figures, asked his co-host the quantity of weed they smoke in a month. Eben affirmed that they consume almost 10 tons of marijuana at the ranch every month. Rrecords show that Tyson and Eben weed consumption is not restricted to only both of them but might probably extend to his entire staff. Also, it is understandable that such utilization is beyond smoking. They also apply weed to many other things they consume like hair shampoo, add to milk, olive oil, and other utilities to grease and beat their satisfaction. This includes hemp based products as well. He also revealed then that his ranch is selling about $500,000 of cannabis to dispensaries in California. Towards the end of 2020, Tyson gave up smoking weed ahead of his comeback exhibition fight with Roy Jones Jr. Do you smoke more weed than Mike Tyson? Let us know in the comments. Puff Puff Vroom?9/21/2015 Puff puff pass as the headline implies is a staple of the recreational marijuana culture but what if this very plant beyond it's medicinal potential there is scientific evidence that marijuana can be a viable fuel source. In this post I will share several pieces of support to the very real possibility of cannabis as a fuel source. One of the first reasons for this compelling potential is the very nature in how the oil burns when you extract it. In order to get the best blend you mix in a caustic lye to create a form of methanol.
What follows is a collection of links with some supporting evidence on how fuel from cannabis can change the energy crisis for the world. http://www.hempcar.org/indexOLD.html http://auto.howstuffworks.com/fuel-efficiency/biofuels/hemp-energy.htm What are your thoughts on the topic?
