You've seen the power of social media especially with a well encompassed following, user friendly API and a bonus sprinkling of Github sampling. However what separates two young platforms with a lot of similarities?
To me the biggest question is with Vine and Snapchat is their room for both? Could Meerkat be the eventual downfall of Periscope? Does Periscope have enough traction to maintain its own following or has social equity begun moving even more quickly toward a battle of early adoption and superficial loyalty.
The really fascinating aspect is the movement from merely cool to cool with the proper amount of value perception. Meerkat is younger and newer but Periscope has a direct backing a more established user base and more resources at its disposal. This could be an interesting battle for social supremacy.
